I've been doing alot of Video Conferencing using Netmeeting. I have a video card that supports video capture, ASUS V6800 Deluxe, and a Sony Hi8 camera. the video is excellent and real-time, but the setup is cumbersome. When I want to video conference, I have to (1) turn the charger to VTR, (2)...

    Which mouse?

The kensington Expert Mouse feels good to use... I love it. The track ball is about the size of a small cue-ball. The only problem is that it has mechanical part. An optical version would be nice, but I haven't seen one yet...

    Broadband question.Need advice,please!

I do on-line gaming and I recommend cable. For 39.95 including equipement and free installation, its the way to go. Thought the IP is not static the lease lasts a long time and always seems to have the same IP. Good for video conferencing. My pings beat other people playing on-line with DSL.

Bad IBX 75GXP 45 GB HDD

To get a RMA, you first have to run the Drive Fitness Test and report the part number, serial number and return code. I got a Return Code of 0x70. Call 1-888-IBM-5214 Mon to Fri 8am-7pm CST and be prepared to wait, or leave a message and someone will call you back. P.S. If you need the...

PCI ATA-100 Card and Hard Drive Upgrade

I don't have a boot from SCSI option either - no problem. Remove your HDD's from the Primary connector and connect them directly to the controller card. Leave the primary slot empty. It works for me.

Will Rambus have something to say about Micron DDR in the Xbox?

I thought that MS was going to use a PIII-600 for X-box. Incidentally, Itel discontinued the PIII-600 just prior to that announcement several months ago. Does this mean that DDR will be hard to get now? Rats?

    Promise Ultra66 Performance Question

When I added an ATA-100 drive and a Promise ULTRA-100, I had a noticeable increase in performance over ATA-33. I installed an ATA-66 in a friends computer and he also noticed the improvement. Of coarse, I had 192 RAM to start with!!!

Is the olympus 360l a decent camera?

A friend of mine got the 450 and everytime he came over, he would scrounge for AA bateries. Hell you could use up a set of batteries just downloading images on the serial cable. I was going to get the 450 until I saw that. Instead, I got the Toshiba PDR-M5 and I love it. It comes with the...

Bad IBX 75GXP 45 GB HDD

As far as I know, there's nothing wrong with my system. I haven't modified anything for the last 2 months. It's been running beatifully without lockups or crashes. I have good airflow and a good PC power and cooling PS. Maybe it is bad luck that I had two hard drive failures in two months. Never...
