if u go higher u have to increase ur CPU voltage. U will also need to increase ur RAM voltage. It all depends on how far ur RAM can go. In the end make sure u test ur system with Prime 95. Max FSB abit AV8 can go is 280. If u get anything below that, means ur Memory is holding u bak. And...

Dont worry man, it very easy to upgrade the Bios. Since the CPU price is the same now, 939 is definitely much better than 130nm. All u need to do is go to ur Motherboard website and there will be step by step BIOS update instrutction. U wont mess up.

If u dont, just get the 3400 745, cuz the CPU for that is like 210 vs 150 for 3000 939. At stock there is a big performance gap. and motherboard for 745 is much cheaper..(50 dollar) But if u do OC, 3000 with same nice ram and PSU, u can hit 2.4-2.5G with no sweat:)

Ya most likely is ur heat issues. U have to run prime95 for 6+ hrs to ensure its stability. If u cant even boot up window, that must be ur system was never stable at 2.4. PSU is nto the problem here. Oh try to loose ur ram's timing too.
