    The Wink home automation thread

And surprise... it's AsRock that's come out with the next HA hub! http://www.anandtech.com/show/11767/asrock-announces-x10-iot-router-wifi-and-zigbee While this product probably isn't going to take off, one thing's for sure: Amazon will take over the market from ST and Wink within the next two...

    [News-Hardware.fr]Sudden "shortage" of Pentium G4560

Latest reports are that Intel is cancelling it due to cannibalizing of Core i3 sales. Not surprising since it was such a great chip, and Intel isn't really into providing fantastic values. Source...

Are you using (or planning to use) Crossfire or SLI?

To add some cold hard facts to the discussion, I thought I'd offer up my recent GTX 1080 Ti SLI benchmarks at 4K. I've been publishing SLI benchmarks since the 980 Ti SLI generation, and scaling is definitely getting worse, but it's a whole lot higher than zero. For comparison, here are the...

1080 TI Causing High CPU Temps ?

A number of factors are involved. Yes, the 1080 Ti uses more power and generates more heat than the 980 Ti, which was already a hot card. Yes, your CPU is working a bit harder. But most importantly, that case simply can't be used for the setup you have. It has next to zero airflow. If you'd like...

    I need case suggestions

Most nvidia cards include backplates, as do many radeon cards. A 160mm-long power supply will hit this backplate if mounted in the Core 500. Either buy a card without one or remove it before installing.

    I need case suggestions

The Fractal Design Core 500 is your best choice for those particular parts. Ideally, you would not have purchased the cooler and PSU before the case, as much is dictated by the case itself. A 160mm will just barely fit. You will need a video card without a backplate. You can see my step-by-step...

    Battlefield 1 released!

Hey, thanks for that - I should have looked it up! ;) Obviously no helis in 1914, but I think that makes it harder for squads to move around quickly on maps. It's just a limitation of the time period BF1 is set in. The slow tanks is another example of this problem.

    Battlefield 1 released!

LOL, I agree with so much of this. I personally really miss the transport helicopters. Also, why is it that I'm at rank 20 or so and haven't picked up a single new gun? Maybe I'm missing something about how upgrades work, and I could probably google an FAQ, but honestly, I'd rather spend the...

    gtx1080 ti

OP, you're fine. You won't even come close to the limits of that PSU. How do I know? Because I tested it. 437 watts at maximum overclock on a 4.3GHz Core i7-6900K, which uses twice as much power as your CPU.

27 game shoot out: RX 480 vs. 580 vs. GTX 1060 [tpu]

While I respect the work Steve puts into his GPU reviews, he really made a big mistake in testing all these cards at their factory overclocked levels and then not listing the specific cards and clocks in the graphs. It basically makes the results meaningless. Putting aside the red vs. green...

    CF RX 480

Very nice setup, guskline! Did the Crosshair VI Hero actually provide better overclocking than your B350 board? The C6H sample I received had a failed DIMM channel, so I switched it out for a Gigabyte B350 board. AMD has provided competitive options with Ryzen, and hopefully Vega will also...

    Dell 30" 120Hz 4k OLED display...

Hate to say I told you so a year later, but this was entirely blown out of proportion with false quoting of a 120hz refresh rate. Furthermore, at this point, the price drop does not impress me. The entire OLED market has changed dramatically in the intervening time, and my new 65" LG OLED 4K...

    NVIDIA Pascal Thread

Interesting tidbit for any EVGA owners thinking about stepping up to the 1080 Ti. As of now, EVGA is only planning on including the 1080 Ti FE in the Step-Up program (which is how I got mine). While EVGA just announced custom models, none run at reference clocks, and EVGA only includes...
