Sound card driver could certainly cause your problem. If that doesn't work then it is prob in your BIOS settings. Are you OCing anything?

I got my wife one of the Acer laptops. We like it much better than the Compaqs or HPs we've used. It actually has room for RAM upgrade with normal RAM and other niceties. Was a low-end machine (she's internet, office apps user). TD:)
