I've just received a similar email:
I am furious as it seems I'll be asked to RMA a 3 week old £450 SSD (which contains sensitive data) that was screwed up by Samsung's firmware update
+1 New Gigabyte P34W with 1Tb 850 Pro delivered on 2 Feb...applied firmware last night via Magician software...SSD not recognised by BIOS this morning :'(
