Nevermind. Pretty damn sure I have what the problem is. I was given a public IP already in use by another device. Waiting for a new one and I think it all should just work now.
DHCP worked fine when the server was first setup. It could be something with the manual config I suppose. But everything works fine until NAT is enabled, so not sure why DHCP would somehow fix that.
Trying to get an Ubuntu server to work behind a NAT setup. (Please move to Network Forum if necessary - I figured more Linux gurus would in this forum would be helpful).
Ubuntu 11.04 (wordpress) -> Cisco ASA 5510 (NAT to internal server) -> Internet
Firewall rules are already in place as...
Just remember if anything goes down where there's an agreement in who's paying what for rent - get that crap noted and signed by everyone involved + witness. Keep copies. You will thank yourself later.
As for the rest of the situation - you need to set the expectations. If they can't be...
I've got a Docsis 2 modem and I can average around 20+. It's not completely impossible there wasn't something wrong with your previous modem. Cox cable requires you get a Docsis 3 for their "not easy to find" 50+ Mbs service, otherwise anything lower they say use their D2's.

Evening all, what are you up to?
I'm sitting in a server room working on bringing back up a server (bad DIMMs, it's only 2 days old too!). Waiting on some diagnostic results.

Thanks for everyone's input.
These are all cisco switches (a 540 and I think 2024's - I'll have to double-check). And I don't think STP is configured on them (this is a remote data center, I haven't gotten too involved in the setup and it's been the way it is long before I came in - just fyi)...
I'm in need of some help. I have a group of switches that are all dropping connections. More specifically everything "pauses" if you're accessing it remotely.
One of the techs said one of the switches was getting "pause" frames due to too much traffic, but nothing's changed this week...
I don't know how DD-WRT does it but I know in some (if not all) VPN tunnels you can specify DNS information. If that doesn't work, you can actually manually specify a DNS server on the PC as well to point it wherever you want it to go. You should be alright - unless China has implemented a...
