Interesting Find....better PS = better overclocking....

I just got my new Enermax 350w and what a difference. I was able to drop my voltage down .05 and get the same stability. DON'T skimp out on the PSU, especially in an overclocked system.

    overclocking a voodoo3 2000

I glued a standard S370 HSF on to my voodoo using metal epoxy and it works great. Running at 185 totally stable.

which is better - golden orb or globalwin

I would be a little concerned if the Gorb isn't even a little warm. Make sure you have good thermal paste. My Gorb gets warm, which is a good thing, because it's transfering heat off the cpu.

    Anyone running 1.9volts on a p3?

There is no way I am bringing my CII 566 down from 850. If 1.9v fries it then so be it. It will be worth the ride. How can 1.9 volts fry your cpu if your temps a low? My cpu hovers around 39-43 degrees under %100 load. I think that's completely acceptable since some people have higher temps...

nslookup, whois, etc.... What else can I use to trace an ip? Same IP trying to mess with my server!

I can't do a whois with the ip address. I need the domain name for that. The ip address I am trying to trace is 209.75.219.165. When I perform a nslookup it returns: can't find 209.75.219.165: Non-existent host/domain Any ideas?

nslookup, whois, etc.... What else can I use to trace an ip? Same IP trying to mess with my server!

What other tools can I use other than nslookup and whois to trace an ip. I have this ip that keeps trying to access my server and I want to nail him to the wall. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

which is better - golden orb or globalwin

Get a new HSF pronto. I would go for the Gorb. It keeps my cpu cool and it's not expensive. You have to twist it on but I didn't find it hard at all. I also removed the thermal paste that came with it and applied my own (this reduced my cpu temp by 4 degrees) because it wasn't applied very...

which is better - golden orb or globalwin

That's hot. I wouldn't use my computer if it got that high. I have the same cpu @ 850 and my temps are much lower than that with my Gorb. Check out my screen shot: http://webfors.net/850cool.htm Under full load I get as high as 44-46 on hot days (28 - 33 degrees outside). On cool days (around...

    Need Help - Celeron II 566 O/C

To really test stability run it under heavy load (Prime95 torture test or 3DMark2000 looping demo) for a couple of hours. If it doesn't crash or lock up on you than you are set to go. If not, then bump the voltage up a little more and try again. Just remember to use a good HSF and thermal paste...

    Need Help - Celeron II 566 O/C

Everyone has a different definition of what is too high. I have mine a 1.9 volts for over a month now and it is completely stable and running cool. Check out my screen shot of MBM: http://webfors.net/850cool.htm I think that as long as you have good cooling and your cpu temp stays reasonable...

    Anyone running 1.9volts on a p3?

1.9 volts and loving it. I've been running for a month now totally stable, check it out: http://webfors.net/850cool.htm And running cool too.

Has anybody attempted to oc an old pentium or mmx? tell us about it.

The mmx version of cpu (166 - 233) overclock really easily. I have my 166mmx @ 200mmx (would of gone higher but my motherboard didn't support it) for over a year now. I have seen the 166 mmx as high as 297 (4.5 multiplier). You should have no problems running your 200 @ 233. Just make sure you...

    What did I do wrong?

If you have a bad contact, then the heat will continue to build up until it reaches dangerous levels. So, yes, it can get that hot if you have a bad contact between the HS and cpu. The first time I installed my gorb, somehow a wire got stuck in the fan and prevented it from turning. My cpu temp...

    What did I do wrong?

Sounds like a bad contact between the cpu and heatsink. How much thermal paste did you put on? Maybe air pockets. I would clean the HS and cpu with rubbing alcohol and reapply the thermal paste (very think layer) and try again. A good way to tell if your HS is installed properly is if your cpu...
