    How reliable is Memtest x86?

Running both the CPU (an XP 3200 400FSB) and the RAM (crucial DDR400) at 200 causes the system to BSOD. Running both at 166 seems to be stable. Running the RAM at 200 and the CPU at 166 also seems to be stable. The PSU is an Enermax 350w, with no peripherals at all but it is running 3 disks...

    How reliable is Memtest x86?

Having problems with my 200 FSB machine. Every so often, particularly under load, it BSODs. Seems to be all over the shop - portcls.sys, bootvid.dll, hal.dll.. but most of the time it's ntoskrnl. If I bring the FSB down to 166 the problem seems to vanish. Fortunately I have another machine...

Antec Sonata II and P180 coming soon

Actually, no, that's just the way everyone THINKS they're supposed to do it. I have a Fong Kai FK320 (?) case right now (heavy as a tank!), with a CPU duct system standard issue, and when you receive the case the rear mounted fan that connects to the duct is installed to blow air OUT, the idea...

Antec Sonata II and P180 coming soon

FWIW, I think the duct is a superb idea and a definite plus to the case design. Cooler air theoretically means lower fan speeds, which means less noise. I just think it should be drawing air from the front, and through a filter - the biggest reason for filtering the air is to avoid dust...

Antec Sonata II and P180 coming soon

Are you sure about that? Most coolers blow air down on to the heatsink. The duct sits directly above the fan. If it was exhausing air it would be creating a vacuum effect directly above the cpu cooler, reducing its efficiency. Besides, it says the fan in the duct is optional. The effect...

Two fans on a single motherboard connector?

Possibly, but I wouldn't risk it. You'd need to have really low powered fans to avoid exceeding the mobos amp rating. Much safer to use a 4 pin molex adapter.

Antec Sonata II and P180 coming soon

Well, it looks like they've done exactly the same thing again with the CPU cooling duct. And worse, on the P180 they're drawing air from directly above the PSU exhaust. So instead of unfiltered air being drawn into your case, you'll have hot unfiltered air and it'll be directed straight at...

Is my unorthodox "mounting" job safe?

If it's a 7200 RPM drive, gut feeling is probably not. If you like try running it for a few minutes (not long though!) and touch the exposed metal on the end - I bet you'll find it's uncomfortably warm.

Antec Sonata II and P180 coming soon

I'd go for the P180 execept for that air duct. AntecCSR, is there a filter on the CPU / vid card cooling duct? Also the positioning on the P180 is a little strange - it's taking air in from the back, directly above the exhaust from the PSU! Now that can't be good! Not a problem on the...
