im running XP

my prescott seems to be runnin slower than normal. on pcmark 2002 my cpu score is only 6300. i upgraded to the newest bios. im running a fan on top of the heatsink, the thermaltake smart fan. set it at the highest setting. my case temp is 40c CPU temp is 50c do you guys think it might be...

well, i upgraded my dell, if you are familair with dell's , they use a shroud, the directs the air from the fan to the heatsink I upgraded from a 2.4c, i didnt know dell used different fans.. so on dells that came with the 3.0e , they had stronger fans. mine didnt.

I had a thermal shut down a few times due to cpu getting too hot, would this damage the cpu's performance at all ? finally added a fan on top of the heatsink to solve my problem,,.

thx, the settings im talking about are the Envoirnment Advanced EQ Special FX etc.... if thats what you mean, so I should leave "enable audio effects" off? eax will still be working right?

i used to have the reguar audigy 2, but just upgraded to zs platinium,, in the eax consol there is no more eax gaming setting no more, so I dont know which setting is suitable, which settings do you guys prefer?? thanks
