Cell phone help, never had one

Thanks Albis. This may sound like a dumb question, but when I add the phone AND service to my Amazon basket, will I later be able to configure my service (add text messaging, for example) on Amazon? ST

Cell phone help, never had one

Thanks alm4rr, that's a great site but it won't work for me. Looks like all of the rebates require a 2-year contract. I only want a 1-year contract to start with since I don't know what I'll be getting into. BUT, seeing that site makes the Amazon deals more believable. ST

Cell phone help, never had one

I will be starting with Verizon (and my first cell phone) in the next week and I noticed that Amazon has these amazing deals for lots of different phones, for example: LG VX5200 Motorola V276 Has anyone tried these Amazon deals? The rebates only work for new service so I imagine most...

The Unofficial Memory Foam/Visco Elastic/NASA Pillow Thread

I'm looking at a 'completesleepshop' auction on eBay (Item #4430903528) and they clearly state that they use Sensus foam. Are you saying they admitted that they don't? Someone should report them... ST kaborka wrote: Be careful if you're considering getting memory foam products from...

    Weird IDE drive problem

Ok, I think I figured it out (with mech's help). It was in "Auto" mode, which means when the HDD and the DVD drive were connected, it automatically switched into "Enhanced" mode. So, without connecting the HDD, I switched it to "Enhanced" mode and sure enough, same problem - no boot. But I...

    Weird IDE drive problem

Slug - It's a new Antec True430 so it should be ok. mech - Thanks! I hope it's something that simple. Looking into it...

    Weird IDE drive problem

sm - I have the drive jumpered to 'cable select' and it's in the master position. mech - I do have the BIOS set to boot from the SATA drive. When I set it to boot from the old IDE drive, it boots up just fine. I played around some more and discovered that if I disconnect the optical drive...

    Weird IDE drive problem

I just finished building a new system based around an Abit IS7 and a SATA drive. I have my DVD burner on IDE 2 and I'm trying to temporarily add the drive from my old system to IDE 1 so I can copy some stuff over. When I connect the old drive, it's detected during POST and in the BIOS, but...

    DirecTV or Dish Network?

I thought you meant Comcast Digital Cable - which is what I have. I actually prefer the analog signal a lot of times because the compression gets unbearable on digital cable on occasion.

    DirecTV or Dish Network?

Did you notice a big difference in picture quality going from Comcast to DirecTV?

    DirecTV or Dish Network?

Good to know that about the resilience of the signal. I'm not planning to get HD. I don't watch much sports and I wasn't gonna get premium movie channels - just an extended basic type package. I know that these services (like digital cable) allocate bits over the full spectrum of the channel...

    DirecTV or Dish Network?

I'm thinking of getting rid of my Digital Cable. The packages for DirecTV and Dish seem pretty similar channel-wise. Any big differences, especially in regard to video quality?

What's the best Mini DV Media?

They're all fairly equal. However, some Sony camcorder models have trouble when you switch tape brands a lot. Yours might not be one of those models, but it doesn't hurt to stick with one brand.

    OCZ vs. Kingston

No plans to OC, but some say that matched pairs are more reliable for dual-channel use. Mostly the vendors say that. Almost everyone else seems to be refuting it, so it seems like the Kingston modules will be fine... As long as I definitely don't need heatspreaders...

    OCZ vs. Kingston

Ok, I was wondering about heatspreaders. Not concerned about appearance - no windows. I found those $80 Crucial sticks at Newegg right before your post, Craz. That looks good, though they will actually cost me $173.60 after the 8.5% tax I have to pay. What about getting the Kingston sticks...
