    Thanks for your replies guys, I do believe that Crucial would have worked, but eventually we decided to go new: new mobo and cpu (i5) so.. I had a concern that the mobo may also be damaged in some way hence the decision.

    Well, I was premature, after first round of windows updates, after restart the same problem again (freeze on "starting windows"). Found some info on the net that Crucial SSD works with this mobo. I might switch to it. Although would be nice to find a solution for the current setup.

    There are none in this Mobo, only thing there is in BIOS is in "Advanced Settings" -> "Storage Configuration" --> "Legacy IDE Channels" I tried Enhanced and Comptible which opens another option "Legacy IDE channels" and has few options: SATA 1,2,3,4 IDE1, SATA2, SATA4 SATA1, SATA3, IDE1...
