What would happen if, in a computer with more than one NIC, I put a crossover between two NICs? Would ANYTHING happen, or would the computer wig out, or what?

OK, people over at nForcersHQ and are getting antsy, and want a solid answer. Does locking the AGP bus actually lock the PCI bus as well? Similarly, when adjusting the AGP clock, does the PCI bus clock follow along, in the 2:1 ratio?
