Just re-seating the connector will likely do it. No replacement necessary unless the USB port is actually broken. Personally I have fixed 3 2012 models by just re-seating the connector. 2 of them would barely charge at all, and my own was extremely slow to charge.

On the 2012 model, the USB connector is on its own separate module connected to the main board via a flat flex cable. Simply re-seating the connection will fix slow charging/no charging problems most of the time. This page shows in detail how to do it...
