My MSI Gaming 270 is coming in tomorrow - I'll have her mining by tomorrow evening :) It's not profitable on its own, but I'm offsetting its cost by selling two old graphics cards.
I've used ShopRunner before, but it was an inferior service to Amazon Prime for my usage.
Newegg's standard shipping is dog slow. You have to subscribe to Premier just to reach their old level of service, which is still slower than Prime. Amazon has never failed to delivery my items at the...
I bought mine for $260 a few weeks ago :( I didn't get the best deal, but these drives are fantastic. Crucial never disappoints me when it comes to SSDs.
Prime student is also increasing to $49. Both Prime options are still a better value than Newegg Premier for PC enthusiasts as well as general consumers :)
Inclusion of a 6-pin connector is fine, as only power headroom will grow (not inherent power draw). It's possible that models without them will appear, but I find it likely that most will ship with one.
The 750 Ti even being compared to such GPUs is what impresses me, given its slim TDP. (R7...
The 750 Ti is of more interest to me than the 260X/265 given its epic TDP at this level of performance. It's great to see what they've accomplished while still using the 28nm process.
And like I said, it mimics the reference design for the most part. It is not a reference board, though, as it uses non-reference components. It should be compatible with anything the reference board is compatible with, of course.
Just arguing over minor details :D
They did use inductors with lesser amperage tolerance - we'll see whether or not it matters, though. The new TwinFrozr heatsink looks very capable. I have one on order from Amazon (to review :3) The backplate and pcb heatsink/bracket are useful for AiO water cooling, too (AC hybrid, NZXT G10).
There are a few subtle differences between the reference R9 290 series and MSI Gaming R9 290, but the overall design does mimic the reference board for the most part. (Highlighted below)
I agree with Jay. It's worth the $150-170 premium for the GTX 780 unless you already have all the water components. They have quite a few models with non-reference cooling that are at or under the $500 MSRP.
Also, the DirectCU2 model uses a non-reference PCB that would not be compatible with...
