My XP locked up.
So, I did a hard shutdown
When I tried to restart, I got a "Boot failure" error. (F me)
I want to mirror my XP backup (on an 80GB drive)
BACK onto this corrupt XP drive (b/c it's brand new 300GB)
So, I attached the 300GB boot failure drive as a SLAVE,
and was going...
So after a few months, I'm gonna have DOZENS of files. But Acronis will know to apply one after the other over the original image? Seems like a long, redundant process. I think I prefer to do FULL backup each time. KISS
Ok, I set up my slave drive and scheduled incremental Acronis backups.
I now have 3 files after 3 days.
(80GB, 2GB, 2GB.)
That means, after a few months, I'm going to have dozens of files.
This seems like a total mess.
I prefer to have 1 file.
Period.
I will just schedule a FULL...
It got awful reviews. I think I'm gonna avoid this. You know, I don't mind spending a few bucks to ensure this works right. Anything more highend and more reliable?

Drive 2) Mirror drive 1 and store in desk.
Drive 3) Daily external USB backup of myDocs.
Drive 4) Add this as a RAID-1 live mirror drive of Drive 1
In event of OS failure/corruption/virus, I can...
RebateM,
Here is my plan:
Drive 1) Do a fresh XP install. Install all my apps. And MyDocs
Drive 2) Mirror drive 1 and store in desk
Drive 3) Daily external USB backup of myDocs.
Drive 4) Add this as a RAID-1 live mirror drive of Drive 1
So, yes, I also need a more transparent...
I am running XP-SP2 (And will be for quite some time)
I have two 300GB Maxtors.
I'd like to have a RAID-1 setup to mirror my drive as a backup.
Can anyone recc. a RAID controller card for my purposes?
I see these 2 at geeks.com. Good enough?
