Where Are The Gigabyte GA-N680SLI-DQ6 Motherboards?

Hi there bka4u2c, with the REV1 boards(still havnt seen much for REV2 boards) is they still appear to have a hard ceiling of about 325FSB on the Q6600. So it will allow you a modest O/C at that. Though it is rock solid it isnt super fast i know. Besides that it's a truly awesome board and unless...

Where Are The Gigabyte GA-N680SLI-DQ6 Motherboards?

There is plenty of info about the lack of Quad Core O/C problems around the place, my biggest gripe is the fact that Gigabyte wont own up to it, say like eVGA did. They realised ther was a problem and fixed it, then did what i suspect alot of poeple wouldn't expect and exchanged everyones...

Where Are The Gigabyte GA-N680SLI-DQ6 Motherboards?

@bigbillyt99 I would be pretty certain you have the Rev1 board due to the fact it shipped with the F2 bios and as you mentioned had the shutdown problems with with the F4, that quite alot of poeple have had. Though the F5 that Gary (thanks again) posted appears to have fixed this issue. As...

Where Are The Gigabyte GA-N680SLI-DQ6 Motherboards?

@smitty Sorry i havnt replied to you yet as i've been offline for few days. I decided to get another Mobo to O/C my Q6600. So far it's working great:D. Also what Beagle mentioned above is great, though you could probably tighten the ram settings a bit. I would say go for what he has...

Where Are The Gigabyte GA-N680SLI-DQ6 Motherboards?

I found this nice little tidbit on VR-Zone regarding the revisions on the eVGA board http://www.vr-zone.com/?i=4756, it shows you what has been done and this is what is allowing people to O/C the Quad cores to similar FSB's to normal C2D's. Hopefully this is part of what Rev2 boards for us...

Where Are The Gigabyte GA-N680SLI-DQ6 Motherboards?

@Ava1anche Thanks for that. I really didnt mean any offence, it's just that nobody else ANYWHERE seems to be able to get this board (or 680's in general) past 325fsb with a Quad. It does seem you are having to pump a hell of a lot of volts into it to get there though adn 78c is rather toasty...

Where Are The Gigabyte GA-N680SLI-DQ6 Motherboards?

I have tried everything, if you have been able to go past 325fsb with a Quad on this board, you would be pretty much the first. As has been pointed out in this thread and pretty much across the NET, the only 680's that are clocking past 325fsb are the DFI LANParty NF680I LT SLI-T2R and eVGA 680...

Where Are The Gigabyte GA-N680SLI-DQ6 Motherboards?

Hopefully it does work out for you. As teh board ion general is great, besides a couple of issues (Bios F4, 1333Fsb), they really are good boards. If you RMA hopefully it isnt that long, i suppose it would also be different from Country-Country etc.. If you do get the RMA you might be lucky a...

Where Are The Gigabyte GA-N680SLI-DQ6 Motherboards?

Firstly @cdfire Good luck with your V/C problems champ, hopefully it all gets sorted, it certainly is a strange problem as people have pointed out. Just having a bit of look on the intraweb this morning(AUS) i found a couple of interesting things, relating to Penryn support (see 1333fsb...

Where Are The Gigabyte GA-N680SLI-DQ6 Motherboards?

Firstly, thanks to Gary for doing some leg work for us, i'm sure it's appreciated by all. Hopefully with teh Rev2 boards using the 570 chipset it will fix the Quad Core issues associated with it at the same time. AFAIK the boards that use the 570 chipset also have the problem of not...

Where Are The Gigabyte GA-N680SLI-DQ6 Motherboards?

Thanks for that TheBeagle and also Gary. It's good that we have the so called Premium version that of the 590 chipset, but if i remember rightly when i did a compare on Gigabytes site the Rev1 Vs Rev2 everything was the sme ie. Amount of Sata Ports, USB etc. So even if the 570 handles less along...

Where Are The Gigabyte GA-N680SLI-DQ6 Motherboards?

Agreed hopefully it will be fixed, with alittle tweak to the code, as it will be a right pain if this thread falls off the frong page as thats the only way to get the end of thread ATM with having to hit next 40 times:disgust: Thia is a bit strange, for the only reason as i have run a SINGLE...

Where Are The Gigabyte GA-N680SLI-DQ6 Motherboards?

Unless they changed the the final F4 bios within the last week or so then it's still aproblem for me. See specs in my sig. Tried @stock and various O/C speeds as well and the shutdown problem is still there. Running Vista 32bit

Where Are The Gigabyte GA-N680SLI-DQ6 Motherboards?

Agreed 100% and i think that goes for everyone else as well. On their website the specs/everything is the same between Rev1 and Rev2 with no mention of waht the difference might be. The only difference at this stage is that Rev2 ha a differently named bios? You look at eVGA(i think) when they...

Where Are The Gigabyte GA-N680SLI-DQ6 Motherboards?

I honestly think they have recieved so many emails/complaints about this (shutting down and quad core) is the reason behind the Rev2 Mobo. When someone gets there hands on one of these boards with a Quad of any sort and can run past 325fsb, which every sample i have seen can do, then i belive...
