MSI Core center and vcore voltage

I recently built an A64 3000 system with an MSI K8T Neo motherboard, and I'm using the Core Center app that came with the board to monitor the chip speeds/temp etc. I updated the drivers on the board and am now seeing the Vcore is at 1.550 volts with a red background like it is trying to alert...

ATI SMARTGART, Ram timings and my new system

Ok, I updated the VIA drivers from the second link I just provided in the last post (I actually used the MSI Live Monitor app that came with the mobo to search for updates for my board) - and this included an AGP update. All fixed! Thanks again for all the help.

ATI SMARTGART, Ram timings and my new system

Hmm, ok so I installed the new motherboard BIOS (1.8) from here: http://www.msi.com.tw/program/support/bios/bos/spt_bos_detail.php?UID=496&kind=1 but I still see SMARTGART AGP setting as 'OFF' and the dxdiag AGP setting is still Not Available... Do I need to install any of these drivers...

ATI SMARTGART, Ram timings and my new system

Thanks for the replies, I'll check into WCPUID. As for my motherboard, it is an MSI K8T NEO (K8T800). I haven't updated anything on it yet, sounds like I should, though. I am about 99% sure my card is AGP, but I tossed the box already - I'm sure it was but now I'm doubtful =/ I ran dxdiag...

ATI SMARTGART, Ram timings and my new system

Hi there, Does anyone know what SMARTGART is? I have an ATI Radeon 128 Pro and this app appears in Control Panel -> Display -> Settings Tab -> Advanced -> SMARTGART Tab. It gives me the option of choosing 4x or 8x AGP, but it is set to 'Off'. How is this different than the default AGP...

Speaker magnets, shielding, and computer systems

I would keep it a safe distance away. I had a friend once who went through 3 hard drives until and found out it was because he kept 2 unshielded speakers near his PC. By "Marshall Cabinet" are you meaning guitar amp / speakers? if so then def keep them away from your computer. Speakers =...

    Opinions on gaming rig

Thanks for the feedback, everyone, this has helped immensely. I'll definitely be looking into a slower CPU and a better video card.

    Opinions on gaming rig

Actually, just thought of something - is that RAM ( http://www.netaffilia.com/ad/electronics/frys/i/2004/07/16/4940.html ) compatible with that motherboard ( http://www.netaffilia.com/ad/electronics/frys/i/2004/07/16/4940.html )? Specifically, I wonder if it will work with the nForce3 chipset?

    good Athlon 64 3200 mobo?

I'm building an Athlon 64 3200 system and am wondering if anyone has any thoughts on a good motherboard. I'd like to get one that supports upgrades to Dual Channel memory, so 4 color-coded slots would be preferable (gonna get 512 MB Dual Channel memory now and then 512 more in about 3 months)...
