I have this board and I had problems using the 3.33 divider with my budget 667ddr2 memory. 3.00 and 4.00 work fine. Im wondering if this might be what is keeping you from going past 300fsb. Im oc'ing a pentium d with this board till I can afford a c2d so Im not pushing the fsb limits at all.
Sandra math/media cpu bench puts my 805d at 3.7ghz on par with an x2 at 2.2ghz. Yes I realize this is a synthetic bench and doesnt show real performance in apps. Still I was pleased to see that the D can keep up.
I got a 805d and a gigabyte 945d motherboard from newegg 2 weeks ago. On stock voltage I got up to 3.6ghz. A .05v bump to 1.45 got me to 3.7ghz. Thats where Im at now with no issues at all. The weird thing is my temps are freakishly cool. 34 idle and 45 load. I thought it was a faulty temp...
I finally got my agp Nvidia 6800gt, and my pcie ATI x800gto to coexist after alot of struggling with different combinations of drivers, bios options and monitor configurations. I tried to find some info on how to get this to work before the whole trial and error session but after scouring forums...
Thats 2 pci cards by my count. You will definitely have access to 2 slots. Also you have a higher bandwidth pcie x1 slot. Siig makes some inexpensive pcie cards for many common pci devices.
When I bought this motherboard I read about the problems people had running at 1t and some people had no problem at all. Its funny that people seem to think if you can run your memory at 1t that you must be a lucky one who got a "good" board. The issue is almost definitely caused by another...
I have the siig version of that card. Its not raid but its the same card, different bios. The sil 3132 is a pretty cool sata II controller. You can even get a siig port splitter in the future and run a raid5 array on that card. I am using mine with 2 sata I drives in a windows dynamic raid...
I finally got my agp Nvidia 6800gt, and my pcie ATI x800gto to coexist last night after alot of struggling with different combinations of drivers, bios options and monitor configurations. I tried to find some info on how to get this to work before the whole trial and error session but after...
There is something funny about the usb ports on this asrock board. I have mine configured correctly, most stuff works fine. My 80gig usb 2.5" external drive soaks up as much power from a usb port as any device could and it functions on all the ports. One problem Im having is that it never...
There is no need for NCQ in a single user environment. I leave NCQ disabled on my sata II drive because all it does is create more cpu work load with no increase in performance. If I was running a file server or webserver, I would enable NCQ. I would still try to use the jmicron port because...
I got to setting up this board last night. My board came with the 1.5 bios loaded.
I can't seem to find the 1t/2t command rate option. The bios is a little weird, is the "gated" option refering to the command rate? And then there is a memory setting for enabling memory compatibility mode...
Obviously not suited for your needs, sata ports can support multiple sata devices

I would go with something like this to put in a pcie x1 slot

I gotta think that having your video card right up against your hard drive is gonna cause you to overheat and become unstable during long gaming sessions.
Has anyone read the THG review of the m1697 reference board? Its so weird how almost every single benchmark has it scoring neatly just...
