It also depends on how many fans and HDD's and other things you have running all at once , I have a DVD Rom a DVD Burner 2 HDD's a power supplied Video card and 5 High quality fans , and I'm adding another HDD for Video recording.

And I saw somewhere that USB devices may have some effect on an XP installation , If you have one or the other in USB , you could try a PS2 mouse or Keyboard just to get it installed and then switch back after.

I believe they just flash the chip to whatever you want , you just tell the the make of you board and what BIOS you want and they flash a chip it and send it to you.

#1 Rule: ALLWAYS have a Flopy disk that is DOS ready with A backup OF YOUR ORIGNAL bios!! AND allways try to flash from DOS , AND IF IT DOESN'T FLASH DON'T TURN OFF or RESTART , put you orignal disk in and run AFUDOS AGAIN. Even in a bad flash it will still stay in DOS till you restart.
