Hackintosh 10.5.5 Retail Rig - Starting at $305

That would be great - it would be especially useful to know if it does work using a firewire PCI card instead of the built-in, which would be the cheapest solution. mine is one of the very early (2nd-gen?) models - it doesn't have a dock connector, just a standard 6-pin Firewire port on the top...

Hackintosh 10.5.5 Retail Rig - Starting at $305

You can use the iPod as a hard drive in addition to syncing in iTunes (not instead of), but that is managed within iTunes (not on the device itself). The mobo is a UD3P... maybe this does have something to do with the built-in FW ports. I will see if I can find a USB adapter or something to...

Hackintosh 10.5.5 Retail Rig - Starting at $305

Hackintosh 10.5.5 Retail Rig - Starting at $305

Thanks for the advice, mosslack and Zaap - I will test again with another PSU to see if it will do something. My PSU does only have the 4 pin connector for the CPU power, so I will definitely look into getting a higher powered/8pin one next time. Hopefully I can report back with better news soon.

Hackintosh 10.5.5 Retail Rig - Starting at $305

Hey Kaido - I am a complete beginner at this, and built my first hackintosh based on your specs. I have what I think is a hardware troubleshooting question, but since it was running as a hackintosh and died in a particular way I thought you might have some ideas. I'm not sure where I should...
