Sounds about on par for most people who SLI. Enjoy the 10% performance increase, 100% extra video powerload + heat, and all the finicky quirks that come with SLI.
Spend the $ on a second identical 22" ws LCD.
Im not trying to be negative, just throwing out opinionated criticism.
I agree. Rebates suck. SLI is finicky, not all its hyped to be, and usually only good at really high res. Its also gonna set you back a good $50+ more on the PSU.
All you really need to beat this price/performance ratio is to be within driving distance of a Frys Electronics on a Friday with the 8 page ad in hand.
LCD's CAN still have a screen burn in, Ive seen it many times.
As mentioned above, as long as you are sure that they are going into standby, its practically no different than being off completely (while plugged in)
If this ever did go past theory you would likely have to find the PCI flavor - I have a handful of voodoo3 AGP's which are the old skool version AGP that do not fit in any of the new MB's. Its a shame, they were great cards.
At the time, the 2D looked amazing compared to the cheap ass TNT...
"Just remember - only 6 weeks ago you would have to pay in excess of $500 for the kind of performance the 8800GT delivers."
I know, it ridiculous. For this reason Ive always settled for older generation cards. The release of the 8800GT has me interested in paying a decent ammount of money for...

Thanks for the welcomes.
I have read the forums, the lack of suppy of 8800's is discussed in length all over the place. In most markets, the supply/demand/price thing is expected, but this 8800 GT thing suprises me.
I remember when there were the ati 7500's that could be bios unlocked and...
Thanks for the awesome 0 start rating.
Whats mentioned above is my point - $100, $1000, whatever. Charging over MSRP because of stock is dumb. Greed from vendors, incompetence from manufacturers because of lack of production. (Nvidia and 3rd parties)
