"more love" = ???
No one seems to want to say WHY the H170 is better. If I won't use all the PCIe lanes on an H110 and I'm not overclocking, what difference will I see? Is it just the higher number?
What is actually crippled and how does it affect performance? I've read the spec sheet - seems like it supports the RAM, SSD, single GPU and single monitor just fine.
Thanks for the other answers, very helpful.
Due to some unique circumstances, I only have a choice between H110 and Z170. The Z170 option is £100 more. What are the problems with H110?
Hi, does the below build look ok? I also have some questions below.
PCPartPicker part list
CPU: Intel Core i5-6600 3.3GHz Quad-Core Processor (£199.98 @ Amazon UK)
Motherboard: Asus H110M-A Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard (£59.99 @ Amazon UK)
Memory: Kingston HyperX Fury Black 16GB (2 x 8GB)...
Thanks.
Is hyper-threading worth the cost difference?
About the tiny improvement from dual channel, some articles say 0%, no difference, and some say 15% or even more. I'm constrained as to the supplier I can use and there is a difference in price there unfortunately.
I'm building a PC purely for application and database development (Visual Studio/SQL Server) and I have some questions.
1. Does it make any difference if I have hyperthreading? It's $100 more for the same architecture/clock speed quad-core but with hyperthreading.
2. For these workloads...
Thanks for the warning. If it does I will just send it back (Assuming I get an invite). The UK has good consumer protection laws for goods ordered online.
Budget is under £400.
It's not resolution I'm looking for but density. Would be happy to get a 3.x" phone with sub-HD resolution.
I'm thinking about just getting a 2013 Moto G, or 2013 Nexus 5 as you say. I find it unbelievable that there aren't any 2014 replacements with 4.x" screens.
New to Android. I intended to pick up a Moto G, but the new one has lower pixel density which I can't accept.
What other midrange phones are out or are coming out within a few months? I would have thought a year after the Moto G was released there would be some competition from the other...
I'll use PM, thanks Bubbaleone.
C1, there's too many complex steps for me to remove the hard drive and particularly the SSD. There's a decent chance I'd break it altogether.
I've already backed up, yes.
I don't expect help on the issue, and this does not have a recovery partition (and in fact this is certainly a hardware problem that will not go away after doing that)
Yeah I thought so. That's probably OK though unless they actually try and recover it.
It costs $5..
I have a laptop with an SSD (primary) and HDD that I want formatted.
I'm sending a laptop back for repair and I want the disks to be formatted before I do so. It overheats within ~2 minutes of turning on with a ungodly loud system beep and crash.
This isn't enough time to tell if the disks...
