i've heard that 754 was being cycled down and 940 was going to be cycled out and that 939 is going to be the new standard socket for amd. is this true? with the high cost of 939 is it worth it so my computer will be upgradable in the future?
im going to be playing games and doing college stuff. i also do some 3d animation sometimes. im thinking of going 754 instead, but will that be upgradable at all in the future?
thanks everyone. i think im going to go with 2 x 512MB PC3500 CL 2-3-3 Mushkin Level 1. im not sure though. i keep thinking that i may want to watercool it later.

i last built a computer several years ago and since have not really been keeping up with advances in hardware. because im going to college next year i thought it was time for a new one.
