I have it up in running. It seems to run well. Couple episodes of the Mash DVD ran with a little pause when I moved the mouse. Maybe some DVD's players are much better than others. My old DVD player would not run on PIII-733. This Samsungs running with the Voodoo III-3000 AGP, 64MB Ram, and the...
Yeah the Hollywood is amazing. I have it installed on the computer at work (Pentium 233). I slowed it down to 120 MHZ - 30 mhz bus and it ran the whole Alien Trilogy without a hitch. Sitting through Alien 4 was the only trouble I had.
Anyway I don't want to go the 2 card route and was hoping a...
I checked my motherboard manual and there is an ATX power connector on it.
Want to keep this old AT case/motherboard. Got a Radeon 9500 Pro for Christmas and it recomends at least a 300 watt power supply. Mine is far from that at 230 watts.
Are the power supplys the same size?
Do the 4...
Received a ATI Radeon 9500 Pro for Christmas. My computer is a 1.1 gig celly on an AT motherboard in an AT Case. The power supply is 230 watts. Inside the install instructions it recomends you have at least a 300 watt power supply. Have not seen any AT power supplys lately, much less any one...
Probably $150 is allright, which is in the $150 range. I think the V3 was $200 and before that it was the Hercules Dyn 128 and Diamond Monster 3D $425 combination. (Old school) Not on this motherboard though. He does not upgrade the video card often.
My friend needs to finally replace his old 3DFX 3000 AGP card. The system is a 700 PIII with 256MB ram. Might be upgrading slightly to a Celeron 1100 chip. Max for that board. Geforce 4200? Which one? How much?
Don't want to get another motherboard etc. Right now it's a Gigabyte (via chipset), boxed PIII 700mhz with 256mb of Corsair Value PC100. The options I've found so far are
Celeron 1000 for about $85-90
Swap memory with PNY 256mb pc133 and go for 933mhz with 133 bus speed. Best Buy $49 plus tax.
Please list in order. Slowest to fastest. Socket 370 .18 Pentium III 733 (133 mhz bus). Pentium III 850 (100 mhz bus), or Celeron 1000 (100 mhz bus). Strictly for games.
