just replaced the card with a X800XT.. reformatted.. blah blah.. halflife 2 skips and stutters in EXACTLY the same spots (not auto save spots.. between them)... i really dont know what to do :(- SniperKil

when i turn it off in the bios.. it says its off in riva tuner.. both under the card and driver options.. and i can overclock the card without the 5 second pauses.. but the stuttering persists- SniperKil

not just those 2 games.. happens in all.. even doom 3 at the default reccomended settings.. dosent happen in 3dmark01/03/05 tho :/- SniperKil

100% positive.. its not like the 5 second pause that happens if you overclock without turning fastwrites off that people have been getting with the NF2/3/4's and 6800's... they are just slight skips and stutters.. and turning fastwrites off dident help anything- SniperKil

yeah but it might have to do with why its constantly reading the harddrive? if its only loading 173MB of stuff into ram.. seems strange... alt tab outta hl2 once and see what hl2.exe is using- SniperKil
