Sorry to hear of your experience. Luckily , mine didn't shattered when it dropped. I too had a tempered glass screen protector from IQ Shield. Looks like the glass screen protector took the fall. Btw, I had Spigen case paired with it.

I've tried quite a few but the one that works for me is the Skinomi TechSkin range of screen protectors. The plastic films work just fine though if I had extra dough I'd prefer the glass screen protectors.

Yeah it's scary nowadays to store sensitive information on your phone. But if in case my phone is stolen, remote wipe would be the best option.
