Avast and AVG are unimpressive, overrated garbage, IMHO. BTW, it's a bad rumor that you can't run two or three av apps/programs at the same time. I was running Avast, AVG, a Trend av engine, and AntiVir all at once. Trend and AntiVir were always first to stop any attacks with no false positives...

I don't play games but found this card well recommended for games and otherwise: Chaintech XGI VOLARI V3 Video Card, 128MB DDR, TV-Out+DVI, 8X AGP Model "SLV3-128" DX9 -RETAIL $44 shipped from Newegg. A little cheaper for the 64MB version. Faster than a geforce mx4000.

The 710n has a $50 rebate ending 12/31/2004 The retailer doesn't matter.
