so I understand that the Tjunction number in core temp is fixed based on the CPU, but can anyone tell me what the Aux number in Speedfan is measuring or should I be concerned - 120 C is blazing hot.

here are my updated numbers - ambient temp ~25-26. At idle - core temp says 31 - speed fan says 46. After 5 minutes of tat core temp says 47 speed fan says 60, and tat says 46 couple of questions - using core temp - the Tjunction is always @ 85 - is that a set value? also using speedfan...

What should I use to monitor the temps - right now I am using the asus tool that came with the MB - reads the same as the BIOS at stock speeds with stock votlages my idle cpu temp is ~ 48 and the motherboard temp is ~ 43 - while ambient room temp right next to the pc is ~ 27-29 I was...

pentium 541...what would be a comparable AMD

I'm looking at a AMD 64 3000+ venice...that beats this intel in pretty much everything correct? Machine would be used for office & web applications only. Thanks

    mobile bartons

You'll probably find that there was tons written about them, but its been about a year if not more. I'm still running one in my everyday pc and another in my htpc, but I think most people on these boards have moved on the to the amd 64 chips. Even with a really good overclock on a barton, a...

whats a decent overclock for "cheap" pc3200

Thanks for the input...I'll try upping the chip voltage more at the same time and look over the overclocking thread I didn't want to run 200x12.5, as I was under the impression that higher fsb speed + high cpu speed is better performing than lower fsb speed with equal cpu speed...correct?

whats a decent overclock for "cheap" pc3200

I'm running an 2600xp-m w/ 1 gig of OCZ Premier (their basic stuff) pc3200. on a DFI Infinity Ultra so far I've had it set at 207 x 11.5 with the vcore @ 1.6 and the ram voltage @ 2.6 using the default timings of 2.5-3-3-7. Stable for the past 2 months. I would like to get to 2500 (208x12)...

Any way to "enable" dual channel mode of DFI Infinity Ultra?

thanks....I'm a fool. I was adding the memory while the pc was still under the desk w/o a light...thought I put in both the blue slots (vs. the single black one)....all is well now.

Any way to "enable" dual channel mode of DFI Infinity Ultra?

I have 2 x 512 DDR400's, but cpuid still says single channel. Both have 2.5-3-3-7 timings, but one is OCZ and the other is Kingston (although I was told it was OCZ when I bought it...but thats another issue). Is there a way to "turn on" dual channel on this board, or will it do it...

which is smaller SLK947U w/ panaflo or Zalman 7000alcu?

appreciate the quick answer but, the question is not getting it on the board. The question is which will stick out further past the edge of the mother board. The zalman or the 90mm panaflow on the 947U I tried the zalman, but it hit the PSU. Thanks again Mike

EVERCASE ATX MID-TOWER CASE, Model "E4252-91"

I also have this case...as a warning. It's reset button is tiny...like poke it with a paperclip / ballpoint pen tiny. Also, it is short / not much clearence between the powersupply and end of the motherboard. A DFI infinity and zalman 7000alcu would not fit...because the Infinity has the...

which is smaller SLK947U w/ panaflo or Zalman 7000alcu?

I have a DFI Infinity in an evercase 4252....there was not enough room for the zalman...it made contact w/ the PSU. Would a SLK947u be any smaller by the time I sit a 92mm Panaflo on top of it? Does anyone have pictures of an installed 947U? I certaintly don't want to buy it and then have it...

    Zalman 7000A-Alcu + DFI Infinity + Evercase 4252 = WE HAVE A PROBLEM

thanks for the heads up on SVC....wouldn't you know it, I just ordered some other stuff from there about 3 days ago. I found a solution (sort of).. I put the zalman on a NF7-s in a Sonata case...it fit barely. So for now I have a the 2600M being cooled by the slk and panaflow that was in the...

    Zalman 7000A-Alcu + DFI Infinity + Evercase 4252 = WE HAVE A PROBLEM

As the topic describes, the above combination of parts would have been nice...but I'm about 1/2 to 1 cm too close between the Zalman and the powersupply. What is the next best cooler that is not as big as the zalman and will keep the temps down and the noise to a minimum as well. Its going to...
