OK All, I've been fighting with this for a month now, and just realized there is a SSL slider - Settings / Mail / (your account) / Advanced / Outgoing Settings Use SSL. Set this to OFF, it comes defaulted to ON and your mail will work on 587. Could get incoming mail but not send outgoing, now...
