    Which SSD right NOW?

If you're taking reliability/longevity out of the mix, I would mostly agree with you on this. But I feel like the slight premium you pay for getting the more reliable drives is worth it. You most certainly will notice whether or not your drive just stops working prematurely.

    Which SSD right NOW?

Rather than the x25-m G2, wouldn't it make sense to get the newer 320? If you're sticking with SATA II, this should be faster than the older gen stuff. It's 25nm, but they're adding in extra reserves for that, and from the numbers I've seen you're still not looking at burning the drive out...

    Attention System Builders 2.0

For what it's worth, as someone that doesn't have the expertise to do it themselves, I would absolutely love for someone to create a thread like this for 2010! I can build a PC if given the parts, but putting together a list like this is outside of the range of my knowledge. The first list was...

Pretty Warm - Assassin's Creed II (PC) $39.99 at Target

And includes the worst DRM in the industry. Also, Amazon is selling it for $40, so this isn't a hot deal, regardless.

    Microsoft TechNet Love

i find it hard to feel morally plagued when I break a EULA, notoriously the most unbelievably ridiculous stretches of text created by modern man... if microsoft wants the key to last a year, make it last a year.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2: $59.98 with $20 e-gift card (Walmart)

no offense, but i think your friend is just plain wrong. i haven't yet beaten MW2, but so far it has been nothing but excellent. I'm playing through on veteran...was he on recruit? of course it's going to be a very similar game, hence modern warfare 2, and not some other game that doesn't...

Internet speed in Windows 7 gets really slow as time goes on

In that case I'd say it's a software bug not related to windows 7 -- I haven't restarted my box in weeks (at least) with no problems. I haven't seen any other reports of w7 internet slowing down for others, so I'd take a look at what programs you've installed (on purpose or possibly not) since...

Need a good, low cost Virtual Private Network - got one you can recommend?

search google for "ssh through DDWRT and putty" there are good guides around. if you have a router that supports DDWRT, the whole setup process takes 10 minutes and doesn't require that your home computer is on, only that your router is running.

    1TB wd black $99 - or 1.5TB seagate $129

Are these pretty much the best deals around? I have a friend who's recently starting taking a good number of photos in a semi-professional capacity, and is looking for a new external drive for his laptop. *edit* I should note that I don't see the 1.5TBs for $120 that RebateMonger noted

Can $150 buy better wireless performance?

Call me a noob -- but the current recommendation for great router is a wireless G? I'm confused, I would have thought that some N router, like the 310N or 610N linksys routers would surpass any G router. is this wrong? I see overwhelmingly good reviews on newegg, but haven't really heard of this...
