I checked the Dell web site last night. 2005FPW is removed from the site. I guess Dell already realized some problem of this product due to so many return/replacement. I agree with some of those. I think Dell is pulling out the product temporary and try to fix the problem. Otherwise, the...
I have 2001FP and using DVI too. I am able to adjust the brightness by pressing the "-" button on your LCD panel. I believe 2005FPW should be the same.
I only need to use the default level (50) on my 2001FP. I think it's perfect. Otherwise, I feel discomfort to my eye too.
Before I...
I asked myself the similar question after I heard about the release of 2005FPW, especially I just got my 2001FP within three days at that time.
I ended up keep my 2001FP because:
1. It's bigger, I don't want to have a LCD (even in widescreen) with the height of 17" LCD.
2. Mine has no...
Wow... I finally understand what blacklight issue is about after watching your screenshot. It seems horrible! I just came home from work and try to test my 2001FP. I originally thought I don't have that problem. But after a curiosity test, I realized that the lower left hand corner of my...
Sadhu,
What's the brightness level of your 2001FP? Mine is still 50. If you still concern the color saturation, you could try to download this image.

It's an image wallpaper from JPL. The resolution is 1600x1200. I set it as...
Yep. The viewable screen size is almost the same as the 17" Ultrasharp LCD. Not only that. The LCD stand of the 2005FPW is not redesigned. It's the same as 17" UltraSharp LCD too. You could check out the user guide at Dell web site to verify this.
According to what you said, you lowered the brightness (or contrast) at your 2005FPW. So what is the brightness level and contrast level of your 2005FPW now? You should be able to see it by click on the "-" key on your monitor. Moreover, what's the default level once your first use the LCD?
I have a similar feeling. I got a 2001FP (4:3) lately. I think it's actually better than the widescreen version (2005FPW). It's not only the gaming resolution issue. The height of the monitor is not enough for 2005FPW. 2001FP has a better screen height. I know widescreen sounds attractive...
Sadhu,
I agree with Naustica. If you have no problem to read the text on your 21" under 1600x1200 resolution, I think you should get 2001FP. Otherwise, you can adjust the font size at the advaced setting. OR get 19" model.
Moroever, for the issue of 2001FP vs 2005FPW, I personally...
I agree. I just got the new Dell system with the 2001FP LCD. When I first heard about the wide-screen 2005FPW, I was hestitated to change it (I still own the machine less than 21 days). But after I read both user guide. I think 2001FP is better to keep.
2001FP is a little bigger...
