Well, it seems you are not up to date. Samsung used to make the queitest drives. Not anymore. Samsung is good. The new king seems to be, beleive it or not, WD! The new WD drives are very quiet and very fast. I recommend searching in the silentpcreview forums.

Replace the heatsink/fan with a Zalman ZM17CU heatsink. I use this heatsink on my GF3 without a fan and it works great.

I'm aware that 80 degrees (my new temp record ;)) is pretty high. My sys temp was 37 degrees at max. I can cool it down to under 50 degrees if I want. But I want to have a quiet system, but not a dead cpu. I don't mind a cpu temp at 80degrees max if the cpu can do it and that's why I wonder at...

Hi there, I wonder what temperature your Athlon XPs were when they didn't wanna live anymore! The reason I wonder is because mine maxes at 78 degreec celsius right now measured on an Epox 8KHA+. I know that these thermal sensors isn't that accurate but I can't measure any other way.

Are you really sure? I mean, have you tried? The CPU is 44-51C now and I think it can be over 65 degrees C before burning (?). Does the thermal paste really make such a big difference?

Hi, I've a XP1600+ and a taisol heatsink/fan but I have will get my thermal paste after the weekend. The heatsink will be removed from another processor and hence, it has no thermal tape or maybe some fragments of it. Is it safe to use it without thermal paste for a few days?

It's a Point of View GF3Ti 200. It can overclock to about 240Mhz now but I want to make my computer quiter and wonder if it will work at stock speed or slightly overclocked with passive cooling? If it can, what heat sinks do you recommend?

Ok. Yes I meant the northbridge chip. I've orderer a ZALMAN ZM-NB32 chip cooler to replace the standard heat-sink-fan combination. I suppose that should be sufficient. Can i unplug the chip-fan safely on this motherboard? If not, does it need active cooling or can I replace the heat-sink with a bigger one without using a fan?

Umm, think I forgot to write the real problem... Of course I can just delete it by right clicking the 'From icq' folder and delete it. But the next time I start icq, then icq will automaticly make a new 'From icq' folder. Ok, it's just a folder, but I really hate that folder and want to...
