Service costs that much no matter which way you slice it. If you own a Sidekick, you're *required* to buy the unlimited data since the device syncs to the Internet...that adds $20 to the monthly fee.
Mine shipped...double-checked my final price on their website = $120.05. :)
Thanks again, OP!
EDIT: And I think he meant OOS @ Staples...because ZipZoomFly still has this in stock...just for $136.00 shipped instead of $132.00. Also, beware of some of those versions of the drive you...
Woo hoo...got it. $132 - $15 coupon + tax = $120.05...shipping was free...said it will show up Wed the 26th.
Coupon is $15 off $75...check google!
THANKS OP!
On the phone working the mojo right now...on hold...he says all is good. Coupon mentioned in this post is dead, so I'm using a $15 off $75 one. $132 - $15 = $117 for this 250GB SATA with a 3 yr warranty..HOT!
I'll keep ya'll posted...
These actually mark the first appearance of 100% Hitachi drives. Previous drives were built during the IBM > Hitachi transition. This is outlined in the StorageReview.com article.
3 year warranty...that is solid for this cheap.
Yup...I have that same bad taste. However, the warranty is what pulled me through. My valuable data is always backed up in some fashion...my main concern is being able to get a replacement drive if something goes wrong...so a 3 or 5 year warranty is a must.
That Maxtor tempted me but I've...
I thought this was a pretty good deal for a 250GB SATA drive and no rebates...$129.99...3 year warranty to boot!

Dave...again...go to the forum I linked to above (I did not link to the FAQ thread that you're probably very familiar with). The forum (http://www.aaltonen.us/forums/viewforum.php?f=4) is very active with people asking those same questions. You'll get the answers fast from people that are...
Yes..just read the posts above. This has been mentioned at least 2X in this thread.
I personally bought 2x512 ECC DDR2 sticks from Crucial for $280+tax...returned them once this system was available with 2x512 for 1x512 price.
It was $280+tax for Crucial 1GB or $333+tax for an entire Dell...
The double memory deal for 1GB total (512x2) ends up being almost the same price as buying two sticks at Crucial.
$333 for the system with 1GB or $280 for 1GB from Crucial.com (no system, obviously).
For the hard drive alone (worth $60 or so) that is worth it.
Just setup an RMA with Crucial. It was about $280 for 2x512MB ECC DDR2 sticks from Crucial for the SC420 - or I could buy an entire server with the new double memory (before it was only 256) for 1GB of ECC DDR for only $333. Heh...$50 for a case, proc, hard drive, cdrom, mouse, keyboard..etc. :)
Just a quick word in here about the memory - you can buy regular DDR2 (unregistered). That isn't much consolation...but it is $220 shipped for 2x512MB Corsair sticks at zipzoomfly. Better than $300 (with tax for me) for 2x512MB Crucial ECC sticks. I went with the ECC anyway since these will...
