I noticed a substancial fps increase for crysis with my 3850's in crossfire on a P5E mobo.
can't give any definitive numbers yet (need to do some 8.2 comparison first), but somewhere between 15 and 25 %

I know that sometime this week the new Catalyst drivers (8.3) will be launched by AMD/ATI
I heard that 780G boards performance will imrove daramitcally and I was wondering what kind of performance improvements can be expected with the X38 chipset.

For those people who are still interested,
Research showed that my mobo was defect and needs to be replaced.
It was a factory error. So I'll just have to wait for my new P5E Mobo.
Thanks again to everyone who reacted to this post.
Yes I did reset my CMOS (RTC switch on my asus board) I removed the battery switched disable/enable for about 15 sec en switched back and returned the battery. But my mobo doesn't make any sounds at all, No beeps (not even when I unplugged all memory slots and video card) so i think my Bios is...
Thanks everyone for your response and for sharing your experience
What I get from all this is that, although it is not recommended to use a fanless T120U eXtreme on a Q6600 with artic silver s5, it is not likely that this made my system unstable after only 5 minutes running.
I did my first...
You are right I'm using the 6 pipes version and I have a 120mm fan I just wanted to know if it was possible.
At first startup my fan wasn't operational and I ignored the warning after a few minutes the system crashed during bios setup and now my mobo doesn't do anything anymore. I'm...

Hello I'm building a new system and I have a problem.
I'm using the Asus P5E mobo and Corsair Dominator PC 8500 memory
I use the ThermalRight 120 eXtreme as CPU cooling.
Now the CPU cooling partly covers the first DDR slot on my mobo and the corsair modules are too high so they come in...
I'm creating a new system for high gaming performance and also for software development (.NET).
I will be using a intel Q6600 with the Asus P5E motherboard.
I have choosen to use 4GB of memory because I will be using MS SQL server 200-5/8.
I'm considering the Corsair Dominator PC8500...
One more question
What is better the better choise? (and why):
Corsair 4x1GB DDR2 SDRAM PC6400 CL5.0 QuadX Dominator $194.00
Or 2 X 2X1GB DDR2 SDRAM PC6400 CL4.0 TwinX Dominator $150.00
using a ASUS P5E with Q6600 (see above) OS:Vista Ultimate x64
Thanks for your reply,
I will use the ThermalRight Utra 120 eXtreme for PCU cooling (instead of the RR-CCH-LB22 Hyper 212) and two 120 mm fans to get a good airflow in the centurion case. The PSU tip is very much appreciated because I thought that 550W was a bit high. The dominator PC 8500's...
