It's been a while since I have 1037u, also bought a NUC with i3 3217u last summer, From my experience I would say NUC is so much better but at significantly higher cost, it's very easy to play with and the small footprint is nicer to put on the back of TV with VESA mount built in. My 1037u is...
Thanks for the update on dual channel, looks like for 1037u nm70 system the memory bandwidth is not as critical as to AMD system, especially for CPU intensive benchmarks.
that's from 3rd party seller on amazon. NM70I2 is also available from ebay at $71.99 shipped, I think the seller imicro is mp3superstore aka superbiiz.
just noticed that amazon offers ecs NM70-I2 1037u board at $66.99 which is the lowest and no tax is collected, ordered one for next build, I'll refuse the newegg delivery of gigabyte 1037u.
Right now amazon has last one in stock, hurry if you want to grab it:D
Thanks, this will be my first build of pfsense. Will ssd be a significant help to improve the performance of pfsense, was thinking of putting a 2 yr old 64gb ssd in.
Just pulled the trigger today, $89.99 plus tax is not too bad, planning to use it as pfsense router, too many bittorrent/emule running simultaneously and my netgear wndr4300 can barely handle it:D
You beat me on ECS I2, just saw it and you already posted it:)
This has better layout than the biostar board, but how come the one with one sodimm is more expensive than i2 version, they seem to be exactly the same in specifications.
so where did the 36 seconds in super pi come from? I did a check at hwbot, they listed 1007u super pi 25 seconds, which beats a6-5200 a lot even at only 1.5GHz frequencey, 1037u at 1.8GHz would be close to 20s.
Gigabyte again paired the 1037u with a PCI not pci-e, that means you can't use...
Sorry I didn't post the link for the comparison, hwbot has a list of benchmarks from a6-5200 with asrock mini ITX board, and the performance of a6-5200 is way higher than 1037u, even super pi 1M AMD is leading 1037u, which we all know Intel has the advantage for years...
a website in uk posted a new review on the biostar 1037u board.
http://www.overclockerstech.com/biostar-mini-itx-motherboard-review/
from the benchmark results, it seems like 1037u is less powerful than the kabini a6-5200 board from ECS, which is price at $139.99.
