I have now taken the HSF off and cleaned all the AS5 off with isopropyl alcohol and lint free cloth, then a blast of air.
The applied AS5 exactly per instructions.
Replace all and temps are same idle and seem a little lower at load. 2 cores still 10 degress hotter than other two though...

That's good advice.
Only difference for me is that I use a wrist band when building PCs. It has a metal connector you clip on a radiator (or similart grounded object). Means you are grounded, but free(ish) to move.
They are very cheap.
