here is my message STOP: c0000218 {Registry File Failure} The registry cannot load the hive (file): \SystemRoot\System32\Config\SOFTWARE or its log or alternate. It is corrupt, absent, or not writeable.

I went to startup my computer today and it said that I have a corrupt config file and will not boot. Is there any way to fix this problem without formating the hard drive? I just installed service pack 2 a couple days ago and suspect that as being the cause. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My question is this, I have moved to a new house that has a window A/C unit. Everytime he unit kicks on the lights flicker slightly. Will this cause any problems to my computer? Thanks for the help.
