Yeah, that's what I thought too. For example, certain games not being able to natively run SLI without modifications are annoying to deal with. I'm just thinking twice, how much performance increase would I get going to a 8800GT. Or perhaps I should just keep the 7950GX2 for a couple more...

I'm thinking of selling my 7950GX2 which I have a buyer for already for $215 in order to get a 8800GT for $250. What does everyone think? Worth the trouble and money? Selling for $215, I'm not losing any money since it's about what I got it for.

What's the voltage supposed to be set at for the 2 different ram modules? Compared to most other modules from different manufacturers, I know BH-5's usually require higher voltage levels in order to reach tight timings. Perhaps this is the issue?

What happens if you try 8x400? or 8x402.

Go with the 4GB of HP DDR2-667 that's on sale. Those sticks use Micron D9HNL IC's which can overclock well to 450-480. It's pretty much guaranteed you'll hit 400 with decent timings on these.

I'm still deciding if I should do crossfire with X1900XT, I could get a mastercard for about $150. Only thing is I got a P5B Deluxe with P965 chipset and the second PCI-E connector only does 4x...

So only software crossfire if you pair a x1950 with a x1900? Won't work with 2 slave x1900s?

I know my HP f2105 has the option to do it. I think most newer LCDs these days should do it.

You still having power issues with your cpu overclock and the 2900XT? Perhaps you could try rewiring some of the hardware to the other rail on that PSU. I would think that 1 of the rails which handles the power to the videocard is being overloaded.
