Thanks for replies. I'll leave them the way they are now. I also used AS3 as to regular white paste from the stock HSF so that probably helped a little too. AX-7 is great HS with lots room to overclock later.

Hello Just upgraded from a stock AMD HSF to AX-7 and smart case fan2. I installed the fan with rubber spacers that came with the AX-7 so there is a 1/4" gap in between. Seems like a pretty big gap. Just wondering if it has any impact on cooling efficiency? Temp on my 1600+ has already...
