absolutely correct, it is the second boot; my mistake. I'll check it out.
what I don't understand is Vista running as smooth as butter after the first boot, only to BSOD on the second boot... I can install apps, run 'em and everything and Vista doesn't hiccup once as long as I DON'T reboot.
done that too. The only remedy so far seems to be to change out the video card... Which SHOULD be fine as-is.
BTW, I've played with Vista on a friend's machine, 3GHz Northwood core P4HT w/ATI Radeon installed, it runs quite well which is what prompted me to get it for my machine.
K... I have a fairly old machine, but it works for me and it SHOULD run Vista just fine. I bought Ultimate SP1 some time ago, but never installed it as one particular piece of software wasn't supported on it (found out after I bought Vista).
