    Motherboard for E5200

+1 for the EP45-DS3L. It may be at the upper end of your budget, but would be worth it. I personally would stick with the new P45/P43 chipset. I don't see the point of using an already outdated 31/35 chipset in a new build. The EP43-DS3L is even cheaper, but will probably not overclock quite...

    Gigabyte EP45-DS3R - S3 Standby Mode

    Gigabyte EP45-DS3R - S3 Standby Mode

I can't believe this issue is still around. I have a GA-965P-DS3 that also has problems with a black screen resuming from S3 mode. I was actually thinking of upgrading it to a GA-EP45-DS3R board to try to resolve the issue. I guess that idea is out the window. :)

q6600 OC'd rig having issues with windows stand by mode

I wouldn't give up that easy. A lot of times the cold boot issue can be tracked to the RAM or not enough voltage to a component. What voltage is your RAM running at? The board defaults to 1.8v. Most Memory needs 2.0 - 2.1 volts to run at their rated speeds. My Gigabyte motherboad required a...
