Not a gamer? Then get a Radeon x1300 non pro passive cooled. That way you get avivo even though it is still beta. Best DVD viewing in the market and super fast transcoding, ecoding and decoding.
I did read somewhere that the 7300 was meant to be under x1300 in gaming performance.
I agree, I bought a 9700 over a year ago brand new off ebay for $50. I don't want to pay $125 to $150 for a 20-30% gain. I would pay about $90 or less for that.
All this info about the x1900 is good, but I want info on the x1700.
I'm a casual gamer and do lots of video encoding. So I want Avivo, I want to play some of the newer RTS and I don't want to break the bank.
So give me details on the card I want! (I realize there are no details yet :) )
And then there are the few of us who mildly game yet do lots of video encoding. So that is where the x1600 would kick the x850.
Personally I'm waiting for the x1700 for pci-e if it is the right price.
Avivo will help me out big time.
