1155 socket motherboard with more than 4 memory slots?

Given this situation, the only 8GB RAM dimms I found are ECC. Does that mean I must buy an ECC-supporting motherboard only? What will happen if I put ECC RAMs on an Asus P8P67 for example? (asus.com says: 4 x DIMM, Max. 32 GB, DDR3 2200(O.C.)*/2133(O.C.)/1866(O.C.)/1600/1333/1066...

1155 socket motherboard with more than 4 memory slots?

To get some Xeon's that would have similar performance with sandy/980x would require double amount of money, if not more. Probably buying sandy cheap and RAM expensive is the best way to go

1155 socket motherboard with more than 4 memory slots?

Then can't buy Sandy Bridge (i7 2600k), will have to go with i7 Extreme 980X which is 4 times more expensive then i7 2600k here, but be limited at 24GB RAM for good (will *probably* need more than 24GB)

1155 socket motherboard with more than 4 memory slots?

All I can find are MB's similar to Asus P8P67 with 4 memory slots, planning an i7 2600K acquisition but this is my main problem. I need 24GB (+), but 8GB memories are very expensive. Any suggestions?

Problems with software RAID-0 on Ubuntu 10.10

I've been using software RAID-0 on my linux server with 2 HDDs @ 7200rpm (on a Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R + Intel i7 930) for a while, but recently something strange started to happen... every 30min-2-4hours the CPU goes sky high, most of it being used by the linux kernel: (green=normal...

    My DDR3 1333MHz shows up as... 400MHz

    I'm using 3x2GB Corsair DDR3 1333MHz CL9 XMS3 + 3x4GB Kingston ValueRAM 4GB DDR3 1333MHz CL9 on my Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R. Unfortunately I don't have physical access to the server for a week or so, but I did admidecode --type 17 on my Ubuntu 10.04 and got: # dmidecode 2.9 SMBIOS 2.4 present...

I need the fastest SATA HDD (VelociRaptor VS Kingston SSD)

I had some second thoughts and was thinking at a Kingston SSD 64GB V-Series V+: Read up to 230MB/s, write up to 180MB/s. Intel V 40GB looks way slower. About the usage, not quite sure, it's for a MMORPG game server to hold 1000+ online players: Most probably something like: - Server...

    Gigabyte X58A-UD3R + Mushkin 12GB + Mushkin 6GB = love ?

I need the fastest SATA HDD (VelociRaptor VS Kingston SSD)

I need THE FASTEST HDD for my server, but it has to be SATA (I don't think I can afford SCSI). What should I choose? Currently I'm thinking at Kingston SSD 30GB, SATA, 2.5'', V-Series vs Western Digital VelociRaptor 150GB, 16MB, SATA2 vs Corsair Extreme. Any sugestions? I need at most 30GB...

    Gigabyte X58A-UD3R + Mushkin 12GB + Mushkin 6GB = love ?

Xeon 5620 is +50percent more expensive here, I would afford it but only if the performance gain is decent
