What is the cheapest pre-built PC I can buy -- or what kind of specs would it have -- that would allow me to play Bioshock Infinite at high or max settings? Thanks.

    External hard drive options?

I'm looking for an external hard drive between 1 and 3 TB. In order, I'm looking for: * value * reliability * performance I'm mainly going to be using this for storing and playing video and some backup, not to serve any files or do anything performance-intensive. I'm looking to spend...

Where to buy next computer & hardware recs

Yeah... it's somewhat flexible, but I'd say really I'd rather spend no more than around $1500, and the lower the better. I don't need a monitor and I don't need a gonzo video card (just a good one). I'm looking for reliability, exceptional ease-of-upgradeability (so I can transfer old hard...

Where to buy next computer & hardware recs

Hi. I'm interested in buying a prebuilt computer. I want a place that knows how to assemble computers that work really well, without bugs or incompatibilities or the like, and that has solid service. Some specific hardware questions: 1) Which case, given that I want a case which allows for...

Best 19-21" LCD <$1200 (esp for text)

Just wanted to report that I did go with the Samsung 213t, and so far I'm very happy with my choice. Now, it's probably not the best choice for gaming -- there is a clear and significant difference in refresh rates between this and a CRT, even when playing a less demanding game like Neverwinter...

Best 19-21" LCD <$1200 (esp for text)

Has anyone here with a 2001FP worked a lot with text? Is it easy to view two full pages on the screen? Is text quite legible even at say 9 pt font? I actually went to a Fry's electronics today and saw a 213t and was quite impressed with its text and image performance. I saw a Viewsonic VP201B...

Best 19-21" LCD <$1200 (esp for text)

Yeah, I'm not sure about widescreen. I don't per se need it, but I thought it would be nice if I wanted to view two documents side-by-side. On the other hand, the Samsung can tilt into portrait mode, which gives it some extra versatility. Also on my list now: Viewsonic VP201B Formac 2010...

Best 19-21" LCD <$1200 (esp for text)

I would like to get the best 19-21" LCD possible. My priority is the clearest and least eye-straining possible text, but a monitor that was good for gaming would also be a big plus. So far my choices boil down to the Samsung 213t and the Apple 20" Cinema Display. Does anyone have any comments...

"System" process spikes CPU Usage every 3-4 mins

Hi. My Windows XP system is spiking in CPU usage every few minutes. I looked carefully and found that the "System" process was the spiker, but I'm not sure of the solution. I notice others have had this problem, but I see no solution...
