there are locking clips that pop out to hold it in place. Make sure once it is seated that the clips are out and locked as to hold the CPU in place.

I have the same motherboard and I have a PIII 700 and it can go with I think 833 or 933 easy. Any more question for when it is installed or about errors you may get I might be of some help.

I have a SOYO motherboard that I bought and found out to be AT style. I don't think that it will take a socket 7 CPU but why not get a 366-533 Celeron and it will fly compared to before.

By the way how much did he buy it for. I have a Diamond 770 Ultra that I want to get rid of but didn't know about what I should ask for it.
