You could always just pull the pins out of your floppy power connector and plug them into the back of the molex connector. they are small enough to squeeze in there and hold enough to see if beeping stops..
Did the 6-pin to 1 molex come with it, because I read that a 6-pin to 2 molex came with it. I would try the 6 to 2 if you can. Thats about all I can see. The only times ive had that issue is when I forget to plug in the 6-pin or when the card is bad. Ive never used an adapter either, just a...
You bought a power supply adapter for the MB. I wondering what is the wattage on your power supply. The reason is because your MB uses a little more juice than normal and its an EATX MB and your vid card requires a lot of power also. You are probably not able to supply the needed power. You...
I would look into a power supply that has the 6-pin connecvtor coming directly from the main harness. This will ensure the card is getting the needed power from a designed circuit and not from another 12-volt rail.
If your getting an inaccessible boot device error then you need to set your original HD to be your boot drive in the BIOS. It probably changed once you added the Ext HD.
Check device manager and see if your USB 2.0 controller has a driver installed for it. It should be under USB controllers -> USB 2.0 HUB. Ensure it's not listed as other device "?"
Does any other USB 2.0 device get detected in the OS?
Always willing to learn more about anything. Umm, you insulted me and I responded.....
I said AMD was cheap in comparison. That is not FUD in my opinion but, I respect that it may be yours. Nor, was it my intention. I said I owned and used both, I shall be more carefull on my wording in the...
Yep, definately don't give up your dual-channel. Go with 2-512Mb dimm's now and then 2 more later if you feel you need it. I believe 2 512MB's are cheaper than 1- 1G too. Your looking too much into the Model Names of the tyypes of memory. Obviously one is ECC and you don't need that unless...
So the thermal level of the CPU is monitored by the chipset (AthalonXP) on the hardware level and not the CPU it's self. Thats an interesting chipset feature I didn't know about.
I've never seen a powersupply ruin a CPU or MB. And the PSU didn't ruin the CPU, chipset or MB as indicated by...
1) Never said AMD is crap; just said cheaper quality. I use AMD for gaming and Intel for my business machine. I can overclock the AMD to performe like I want it to for short periods and it doesn't cost as much if I screw up and fry something; But, it still costs so I better not screw up. I...
The question here is "Stabilizing a system to withstand unforseen abuse". I you cant properly cool or put together a system then don't buy cheaper parts. He's out a CPU, with a P4 he could of fixed the issue and rebooted.
"Ewww, the cream got burnt"
What do you mean by "Jump the FSB"?
I would recomend ensuring that you have the lastest BIOS for MB. There were some FSB\MemBus timing issues at one time. Try to manually set the FSB to 200MHz in the BIOS and ensure the CPU Core Voltage is set correctly. Then ensure the Memory speed is...
