What are the advantages to hooking up a LCD through a DVI connection? In a dual LCD setup would you notice a difference between one hooked up with DVI and one with VGA?
Thanks,
Shad
Does anyone know how to get rid of the auto check screen on bootup? I started getting it after a SCSI id problem. I rebuilt my RAID 5 array and I still keep getting an autocheck screen that runs check disk. It runs each time I start windows starts. The computer doesn't lock up or anything...
Just installed XP Pro on a Cyrix PR300 (XP Pro puts it at 224 MHz) with 96 MB RAM. Seems to run alright on the Internet and using Office 2000. Using this system to test out XP before I put it on my main machine.
I normally use W2K Pro, but just installed Win XP Pro tonight on test machine. So far I like the new look of XP Pro, but there are some OS issues that I don't like at the moment. Might just need time to figure out how it works.
Try this in your BIOS:
Choose Advanced Chipset Features
Then Chipset Driving Control
Next Control CPU P/N Value (Change this to Manual)
Now change the SlewRate Control to a value of 6 or 7.
I made this change to get my XP 1600+ to work on my KG7.
SonicTron - Solid State Drives are hard drives made with RAM. They are roughly 100 times faster than the current 15,000 RPM drives. They are also extremely expensive, well into the thousands. So, this would definitely be the component I would want.
