AMD Ryzen 3000 - not so disruptive?

Perhaps. But I would think that it is a better strategy to burn 2x 4-core chiplets than use a full-fat 8 core. The assumption here is that they have enough half-baked chiplets sitting around, which may not be the case. Either way, I think there are definitely a lot more models to be announced.

AMD Ryzen 3000 - not so disruptive?

This is an interesting release. The R9 3900X, to me, is just 2x R5's stuck together, minus the pci-e lanes. Since this is their release day flagship model, it is a little surprising to me that it is comprised of 2 mid-ranged chiplets. This makes me wonder why their R7 lineup is not 4+4, but is...

Has there been any news of workstation motherboards for TR (not just "gamer" models)?

AMD giveaway thread, 14+ 8GB 480 cards on Wed, the 29th, Starting at 11am EST & more!

This sentence stood out to me. Does this mean that 8GB is not going to be available for the 480 in the initial release? I haven't kept up with the main thread.

3 Monitors AMD Eyefinity not working w/ DisplayPort!

Good luck. I have a 1 card, 3 monitor, eyefinity setup via 1*DP and 2*DVI connectors. I had planned to do it this way so I made sure to get only monitors that had DP. Your situation is exactly what I wanted to avoid.

Anyone else planning on entering the PC CPU manufacturing market any time soon?

Didn't some entity in China say they were investing $150 Billion in building chips?

Nvidia's Pascal in 2016... any guesses on pricing?

Both company's driver patch notes indicate performance increases in games. By that definition, no one has "maximum performance" at release. You'd be foolish to think that no improvements can be made after release.

Dell buys EMC for 67 Billion in largest tech deal ever..

Perhaps, but it is never good to be the one being acquired.

[KitGuru] AMD readies three new GPUs: Greenland, Baffin and Ellesmere

All products are being "readied" until they are either released or cancelled. Just need to wait and see, no point in speculating now.

Sapphire R9 Fury Tri-X OC techpowerup review

So you think Sapphire did a damn good job, but that it should be cheaper than launch MSRP? That's some pretty ambitious standard.

Is there an in depth article comparing the AMD GCN arch and Nvidia Maxwell arch

I don't think you can find anything that parallels David Kanter's analysis except on his website, unfortunately. That's why someone offered him a job.

What things can Intel, AMD, Nvidia and Microsoft do to make PC desktop better?

Go read about what MS has done recently. I don't think their multi-billion dollar writedown of Nokia section and their personnel cuts from mobile is bringing confidence to that department. You want better environment, it is up to the other software developers, not just the HW providers.
