I'm thinking of updating my memory and video card. I like (and my pocket likes too):
- eVga 7950 gt 512Mb PCIe
- G.Skill 2x1024Mb ddr2 800 MHz 4-4-4-12
Did someone try them? I know that the video card is not included in Asrock's compatibility list, but maybe there is no problem.
Thanks...
I installed the new BIOS (2.40) and lost the speedstep option. Why Asrock is doing this? Give us a solution (is asrock giving solutions??) and taking or breaking on the other hand (see CPU Quiet Fan function in BIOS 2.20 and now this loss in BIOS 2.40). Be alert
I remember that the CPU support list included the qx6700 for 775dual-vsta (from BIOS 2.10). They changed that as they changed the description for BIOS 2.20 too. Bad Asrock, bad! !

My guess: next bios is going to be 2.30 Fine tune CPU Quiet Fan function.
For who says that this function is working properly (in bios 2.20): my fan (Pentium D915 Stock) is running at 2700 rpm-39°C (102°F) idle. I set the temperature limit in 50°C.
I need a bit of silence
Look at Asrock's Homepage. They changed the bios description.
Before
Bios 2.20 Fine tune CPU Quiet Fan function
Now
Bios 2.20 Modified CPU Quiet Fan function to run higher speed than P2.10 bios.
I went back to 2.10...same problem here, the cpu fan at stock rpm all time. Did you read the description at Asrock's web? BIOS 2.20: Fine tune CPU Quiet Fan function...very funny
