I recently purchased a KT7A board by ABIT, which ended up being dead. I returned this board and need to purchase another. However, I've now learned AMD has removed ABIT from their recommended boards list. I want to run the a new KT133A board in my system, but I'm not sure I want to chance ABIT...

I have a GlobalWin FOP 32 HSF and it is plugged into fan header 1. I talked to ABIT and they have narrowed it down to what they feel is a bad board or CPU.

My new KT7A won't post. I'm using a 1gig CPU, ATI 64mb RADEON and all I get is fresh air from the fans blowing, nothing else. No video, no beeps, just spinning fans. I have fan 1 header in use, no grounds(tried booting out of case), tried 2 different memory modules, 2 different video cards...

I suppose the fact I have choosen to go with an AMD Thunderbird 1.1 would be helpful. Budget isn't a big issue, neither is weight or noise. I would like to eventually modify it, but only in the cooling area.

I've decided to build my own computer and thought choosing a video card was difficult, boy was I wrong. Seems every component leaves me searching reviews for hours and hours trying to find a promising choice. Everything is starting to run together. Well, now I've reached the case and power...
